Rumour time: Radamel Falcao "won't join Chelsea"

Now, I trust Marca about as far as I can throw them (and by them I mean the company, not an individual newspaper), but I miss talking about strikers. So let's talk about strikers. The hot rumour today is that Radamel Falcao has apparently told the Atletico Madrid that he won't be going to Chelsea. Everyone panic! Or don't.

I mean, first of all, it's Marca, so if you're dead-set on the Blues acquiring Falcao this summer this doesn't mean that your dream is over. And secondly, if Chelsea don't get a star striker in over the next transfer window, it's not exactly the end of the world. Yeah, Falcao (or Edinson Cavani) would be an upgrade for the forward line, even if Romelu Lukaku comes back. But realistically, we'll be more than ok with Lukaku and Demba Ba as the two top strikers and Fernando Torres held in reserve, and dropping a tonne of money on a top-tier centre forward might not be the most efficient thing we could do with our resources, especially since our midfield is in not-so-good shape.

So -- my question to everyone: Do we all still even want Falcao to come in? If not, where would you rather spend that money?
