And the search for a Ross Turnbull replacement continues, as Stoke City may be opening the door for Chelsea to acquire a long time target
Earlier we heard that Chelsea may be preparing a bid for Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, but Stoke would seemingly have very little reason to sell their first choice keeper in the middle of their season. That could all change if Stoke were to sign a new goalkeeper though, especially if it was a young, talented player that has already clear that he'd need to see continued minutes in order to talk about a move. Enter Jack Butland:
#SCFC Stoke bid for #BCFC Butland. #NCFC still after Curtis Davies & offering Leon Barnett on loan but clubs can't agree cash price

Butland to Stoke City would certainly increase the likelihood of a move involving Asmir Begovic, as Stoke would seemingly have less need (and money) for two top quality goalkeepers than a club the size of Chelsea. We know that Begovic has had interest in Chelsea in the past, so I wouldn't go ruling out a potential move due to the presence of Petr Cech and Thibaut Courtois on the Chelsea books. I guess we have at least one situation that will be worth watching as the transfer deadline approaches.
