There have been rumors that he may be joining Vitesse for some time, and Piet de Visser would be in favor of it
Piet de Visser has been Chelsea's top scout for several years, and was one of the driving forces behind the influx of foreign talent into the Chelsea academy since the summer of 2007. He was a major key in the recruitment of Dutch duo Patrick van Aanholt and Jeffrey Bruma, and still follows the pair closely while they are away from the club.
De Visser had a few comments about Bruma's diminishing playing time at HSV, and is clearly in favor of the club finding the youngster a new home. He specifically mentioned Vitesse Arnhem:
"I follow Jeffrey closely. Hamburger SV has loaned Bruma for two seasons from Chelsea, and the second period still has half way to go. But with Jeffrey getting little time at Hamburg, then it is better to go to a club where he gets a fair chance."
"It is very strange that Bruma is not playing in Germany. He even reached the Dutch national team. I think it is wrong when he suddenly HSV move him to the right to play. That is not the position for Jefrrey. Rutten would help to make him mature at Vitesse."
I'd be fully in favor of the move, as I think the best thing for Bruma at this point would be steady minute in the center of the pitch. He should be able to walk into the starting lineup at the Arnhem side, and that would give them a back line with three Chelsea prospects in the four defensive slots.
The fact that de Visser was willing to talk about the situation to the press makes me think there may be something here worth noting, as usually he is very tight lipped about potential moves. We'll have more loanee news for you shortly, so stay tuned.
