On deadline day of January, 2013, let's take a look at what Chelsea players have contracts expiring in the near future
While Rafa Benitez continues to talk about how much this Chelsea club is improving despite actual results showing exactly the opposite, I have a hard time being totally down on the chances of Chelsea FC going forward. Yes, we clearly need a new manager if we're ever going to become European champions for a second time, but the long term future of the club looks to include a good number of talented young players on the pitch.
With that in mind, I decided that I'd take a look at the contractual status of Chelsea's players to see what kind of shape we look to bee in going forward. Here's a look at when each Chelsea player's contract expires, as well as several of our key players on loan (current age in in parenthesis):

Regardless of what signings Chelsea may or may not make on deadline day, there is an awful lot of young talent under contract for a very decent amount of time. The results yesterday may have been disappointing for Chelsea fans everywhere, but regardless of the present, the future looks very bright.
