The Israeli midfielder's loan has come to an end

Yossi Benayoun's half season loan to West Ham has come to an end, and with the midfielder/winger suffering from a knee injury, West Ham were not interested in extending the loan for the remainder of the season. He made only six appearances for West Ham, dealing with several different injuries during his time there.

I have a very hard time seeing Benayoun having any sort of role with the Chelsea first team, as Chelsea are fairly loaded across the attacking band. I'd have to think that Chelsea would be very interested in moving Benayoun elsewhere if they can find a taker for the player. Benayoun has wanted to remain in London in the past, so that could be an obstacle as well.

This is the final year on Benayoun's contract, so he'll be free to leave at the end of the season. At the moment, he has just 11 appearances for Chelsea, and has scored one goal for the club.
