The fourth round draw for the Capital One Cup has been completed, and Chelsea FC will face Manchester United at Stamford Bridge. The game will be scheduled sometime during the week commencing Oct 29.
The fourth round draw for the Capital One Cup was done at the completion of Manchester United's 2-1 victory over Newcastle, and Chelsea FC have drawn Manchester United. The fixture will be held at Stamford Bridge, with the date and kickoff time of the fixture to be announced at a later point in time.
Chelsea FC entered the Capital One Cup in the third round of the competition where they defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers by a 6-0 scoreline. That emphatic victory has assured further fixture congestion in the future. The date and time of the fourth round fixture has not yet been released, but all fourth round games are set to be played during the week commencing Oct 29.
That timeframe would slot the game in between a pair of Premier League fixtures, Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, Oct 28, and a trip to Wales to face Swansea City on Saturday, Nov 3. We'll also face Shakhtar Donetsk on the Tuesday prior to United and on the Wednesday after Swansea City in a pair of matches that should be hugely important in our Champions League campaign. With that schedule congestion in mind, I think it seems fairly likely that Chelsea will again play their backups in the fourth round of the competition. Maybe this game will even be televised.
