Here's an interesting tidbit from L'Equipe -- Marseille have apparently confirmed that Chelsea are in hard for Cesar Azpilicueta:
So, short story short (but in English): Marseille president Vincent Labrune has claimed that the Blues have made a serious approach for Azpilicueta, and L'Equipe believe a deal might get done by the end of the week for around €9M. The French club are apparently already lining up a replacement for him, so the fate of Sebastian Boenisch, a free agent* after letting his Werder Bremen contract run down, is something to keep an eye on.
*I thought he was going to Stuttgart, but apparently not.
Anyway, this is good news. Azpilicueta's a good young player and should be a capable backup for Ivanovic as well as a capable attacking option for when Chelsea need to change things up against more defensive teams. Cheap, too. Hurray!
