The Ox pleads his case to be able to touch one of Ash's trophies. Just a little touch; just to see what it feels like.
Despite having started just a few days ago, Ashley Cole's Twitter has quickly become just about the greatest thing outside of David Luiz's Instagram. And while I do not think Ash will make it through the gauntlet of social media unscathed (it's all fun and games...until...), it's quite entertaining at the moment and, at times, even informative!
Here's what he had to say regarding all the contract/transfer rumors that have been making the rounds this weekend:
Contract talks have not stalled just started, and 200k are you for real, I'd never ask for that,
— Ashley Cole (@TheRealAC3) August 5, 2012
Straight from the source to your house, Ashley Cole is giving you the lowdown on his contract talks. I'm not entirely certain that his agent would be all that pleased with this tweet - Ashley is essentially undoing all of his agent's media work in less 140 characters.
In any case, we now have this official confirmation that Cole and Chelsea are indeed looking to extend their trophy-laden partnership. With the four-year contract signed in 2009 about to expire next summer, this should not come as a surprise. Cole is already well compensated (£120k/week) and I'd imagine that any new contract would be using that baseline to which to add a little bit more.
Good move? Bad move? Still capable? Over the hill? Let's have a poll.
