LONDON, ENGLAND - APRIL 29: Daniel Sturridge of Chelsea (C) is congratulated by Ashley Cole (R) and Salomon Kalou as he scores their first goal during the Barclays Premier League match between Chelsea and Queens Park Rangers at Stamford Bridge on April 29, 2012 in London, England. And now the Daniel Sturridge mystery from earlier becomes clearer. Originally, it was reported that the striker was not in the Chelsea squad to face Atletico Madrid (we're 1-0 down thanks to a Radamel Falcao goal at the time of writing, by the way), and then his name appeared on the bench. Magic! Here's what happened.
Danny Sturridge added to the Chelsea team at the very last minute tonight - would suggest any possible loan move is now off.

So, for those of you who absolutely hated the idea of Sturridge going out on loan -- and I really don't blame you -- this is very good news indeed. No Sturridge for you, Liverpool! What impact this has on the possible signing of Loic Remy, whom Chelsea have been connected with all day, is entirely unclear. But, yeah, the big news is Sturridge looks like he's staying.
