Nathaniel Chalobah was going to be a fun name to watch today. He's an absolutely elite prospect, and he's probably developed enough for a loan to the lower levels of English football. He's also still eligible for both the U18 and U21 squads, and he'd seem to be our emergency cover at center back. I wasn't really sure what to expect with Chalobah today, but now we have an answer. Chelsea FC have confirmed that Chalobah will be joining Watford on a six month loan.
This should be an interesting loan spell to watch. Chalobah is certainly going to see plenty of minutes, but where he'll be deployed by Gianfranco Zola will be worth paying attention to. The level of competition in the Championship is probably just about perfect for the youngster, and I'm really hoping he'll be pulling the strings in the midfield. The Championship is all of a sudden becoming a lot more interesting for Chelsea fans, as now our two best English prospects are on loan there. Best of luck Nathaniel, and say hi to Zola for us.
