Analyzing the transfer situation at ChelseaFC

One Transfer Call

The last days of the summer transfer window is upon us, and unlike the past windows, Chelsea have not been linked (credibly) with any further addition. When the window opened, fans (including me) where shouting for options wide out, a solid right back and central midfielder. *

*some asked for a striker but i choose to avoid that particular speculation because I want to see sturridge and torres up front at least till the winter

Wide Options/Creative Attackers : Call it an overkill, but we are definitely not lacking here anymore, with the likes of Hazard, Marin, Moses coming into our team , we now boast one of the best wide attacks and creativity in the league and Europe.

Right Back : With the addition of Cesar Azpi** our team has a quality backup to the man bear and this seemingly solidifies the right back issue that bothered us for a few years.

Central Mid: Oscar was bought into the squad, with rumors suggesting he could take Lampard's place in the lineup, although he looks like a star for the future, it needs to be seen if he can contribute effectively from that particular position.

So all said and done, we are at the last few days of the window, and everywhere we look, we find rumors (strictly rumors of some really lazy media) connecting us to the likes of FALCAO, CAVANI, HULK, SCHURRLE etc..

The 'claimed' credibility of these posts are a result of another ridiculous rumor suggesting Sturridge leaving to Liverpool, let me take a minute to analyze that particular story,

It certainly does not seem to have any solid foundation (and by solid foundation, I mean no posts by Stephen Schmidt or Graham MacAree), apart from that gaping hole, I will try to link up some reasons to validate that this is just another ' I dont have a story for today so let me right something' philosophy of some reporters. A transfer to liverpool at this time will mean we will have just one backup for torres in the lineup, and no, I am not counting moses here, also, if we were to rush for any of the other players mentioned in the above list, we would have to pay an astronomical fee, possibly higher than required because their clubs will realize that we are in need, as always, need brings forth demand, and demand results in inflation.

So yeah, I definitely do not see this happening and I will kindly advise you to not bother reading anything related to signing another striker before January.

Onwards with the analysis, it would have been nice to have an addition of the likes of Nuri Sahin to our roster, but thats out of our picture now, so I forsee our next major purchase to be a central mid, someone not too young (oscar) , not too old (lamps), someone in his mid twenties.

Anyway, this is my first analysis of this season, and I hope to continue it throughout the season, so fire away with any comments you have, constructive criticism is always welcome :) KTBFFH
