Two names that many of you guys were crying out for at the beginning of the summer were Eden Hazard of Lille and Luka Modric of Tottneham Hotspur. We added one of the two, capturing the signature of Eden Hazard on the back of our Champions League winning campaign. Those clamoring for Luka Modric, however, will be a bit dissappointed. Luka was officially sold to Real Madrid yesterday, likely taking him out of any futures conversation as a Chelsea target. We've all seen the start Hazard has had for Chelsea, and Tottenham are certainly missing the little Croatian just as much as we're loving the little Belgian.
The two deals did have a few similarities. Hazard sold for a reported £32 million, while the most reliable reports I can find on Modric would suggest that he sold in the vicinity of £33 million. I haven't heard anything I'd believe on the wages of either player, but I'd assume that both are on a fairly substantial wage. With that in mind, I thought I'd ask all of you the following. If you were told at the beginning of the summer you could have either Luka Modric or Eden Hazard for basically the same amount of money (but not both), which one would you have chosen? Vote in the poll and discuss away.
