We've been looking for a right back all summer, and today it looks like we finally have our guy. According to the official Chelsea website, Chelsea have come to an agreement with Olympic Marseille for 22 year old Cesar Azpilicueta. Between this signing and Victor Moses, that brings the number of Chelsea signings over the summer to 6. Every one has been 24 or under.

With the Sam Hutchinson loan being finalized and Paulo Ferreira being Paulo Ferriera, this really did seem inevitable. I'm a pretty happy camper with this signing, as he's the only real option we've been linked to this summer that hasn't yet reached the prime years of their career. Azpi should be a useful player immediately, and should Bran leave the club or begin to lose some mobility, Cesar will probably be a solid starting caliber option going forward.
