Wigan Athletic announced earlier today that they had accepted Chelsea's bid for 21 year old Victor Moses. While Wigan had been rumored to have been asking for £9 million, Chelsea had repeatedly come to the club with four bids that did not meet that valuation. On their fifth attempt, Wigan finally accepted the offer and have allowed Moses to commence talks with the champions of Europe. The offer? According to the BBC:

Chelsea have offered £7m up front, with a further £2m in add-ons

If true, this would appear to be a very reasonable price for the young attacker. In a market gone mad for homegrown talent, signing Victor Moses for about the same amount as Nick Powell just sold for seems awfully good business. There's still a medical to be taken and wages to be determined, but this one already looks very club friendly. Well done Michael Emenalo, well done indeed.
