Chelsea have won both of their games thus far this season, and with those six points they sit alone atop the Premier League table for the time being. Saturday will mark the first time this season in which they square off against a team that finished above them in the table last year, and they'll be doing so without the injured Marko Marin. David Luiz also missed today's game with injury, but Roberto Di Matteo didn't sound too concerned about it in his post game comments:
We expect David Luiz to be available for Saturday, it's a minor knee issue.
Since we all love David Luiz here, this is definitely good news. I'm beginning to worry about our Brazilian center back though, as he's missed time at the end of last year, over the summer, and already this season with knee issues. I hope the club aren't rushing him back to deal with the dangerous Newcastle strikeforce if he's still not 100%, but I'd assume the doctors know what they are doing in this case. Still, seeing a Cahill/Terry partnership for the next 2 games before the break wouldn't be the worst thing ever. Get well soon, we miss you!
