La Provence is running a little update this afternoon about Cesar Azpilicueta. They don't have much, but they do have a little bit of news about the group that traveled to Greece in an attempt to seal entrance to the group stage of the Europa League. According to the French paper:
Cesar Azpilicueta will not be part of the group Olympian to Tiraspol, indicating that the transfer is imminent. Yesterday, its leaders were in London to negotiate his transfer to Chelsea.
I'm not going to speculate on whether or not Azpilicueta is heading to Chelsea at this point, but if he's indeed not traveling with the team it really should be noted at the very least. Azpi played in the last Europa League qualifier against Eskişehirspor, so the club is clearly not against using him in the early rounds of European play. There isn't a roster up on the official website yet, so it's impossible to confirm at this point. We'll let you know if we hear more, but I wouldn't expect to Azpi debut before the international break even if a deal is wrapped up immediately.
