Last night when our man-bear Branislav Ivanovic got a red-card, we all thought he won't be able to start Chelsea's first 3 matches of the new season. I came to know today that that's not the case. The FA changed the rule in 2009.

... in order to address uncertainty over disciplinary sanctions in pre-season friendlies, sanctions for red cards shown in such fixtures will not now apply to competitive first team games. Any such sanction will apply only in the same competition (i.e. other friendlies including The FA Community Shield).
This is a great news. Also, lets not overspend on a new RB!
