Hey guys, what do you think of Mano Menezes?
Today marks the end of the Olympic Men's Football, and Brazil would love to be able to defend their title on home soil on 2016, after having finally won the elusive gold medal they've been looking for for so long. Standing in their way, however, is Mexico, who won a fairly easy group before defeating Senegal and Japan on their way to the final. They were undoubtedly helped by the early exits in the group stage of expected challengers Spain and Uruguay.
Given the title of this Game Thread, it's safe to assume that most of will be cheering for new signing Oscar and his absolutely stacked Brazil team to win their country an Olympic gold. On the other hand, shouldn't we be cheering for the plucky underdog who made the final despite not being fancied, as we did just under three months ago? I say we hope Oscar has a brilliant game, but Mexico sneak the gold.
Why, you ask? Two words: David. Luiz. Do we really want a team which rejected David Luiz at the last moment to be successful in anything? To be honest, do your own thing, we're not going to judge, unless you're actively supporting Bangladesh in the final. In that case, we'll stare at you like you have two noses.
Enjoy, everybody! : )
