New Spurs boss AVB keen to beat former club Chelsea to Porto hitman Hulk according to Daily Mail.
Don't say, I didn't warn you!
Two things caught my attention:
"negotiate a drop in the fee with Porto." "Hulk wants wages of around £100,000"
If my memory serves me correct, Hulk's wage demands were reported to be slightly north of the £100K figure. I could be wrong, though.
Anyhow, does anyone else think Pinta da Costa would be ready to lower his £38M asking price?
One of my wishes has been to see Levy and Pinta da Costa enter into a negotiation, just for the heck of it!
DM have been clever. Bringing out a Hulk angle as the Oscar deal is as good as done. Even the CBF (Brazilian Football Federation) has confirmed, that Oscar has been released for medicals.
Brazilian Football Confederation personnel confirmed that Oscar was released for the medical - Feeling is he has already signed for Chelsea— jon cotterill (@Pitacodogringo) July 17, 2012
Now the main point of contention:
There were rumors earlier, which claimed AVB wanted to bring Leandro Damião to Spurs. Now if we go along with Paulo Freitas' angle, that is unlikely to happen. Would that push AVB into 'hijacking' Hulk bid?
I've been adamant, so far, that if Hulk leaves Porto, then it will be to Chelsea. However, with the Oscar deal set to be confirmed, I am feeling, Hulk deal may well not happen.
Hulk doesn't wish to go to PSG, which was the other club that could afford his price tag. If Spurs sell Modric for a hefty amount, it may give them enough finance to broker the deal. Although, unlikely, in my opinion.
What do you guys think?
Will Hulk still join Chelsea?
