Hulk would be an excellent addition to Chelsea's new and improved frontline but not at the price. He is good but not that good to be worth 38 million pounds. Moreover, with FFP chelsea cant spend too much on hulk. Hazard is a better player than hulk and young too and even he didn't cost 38 million. Sure, the potential combination of Hulk and Eden Hazard manning the wings alongside striker Fernando Torres is surely a frightening thought for backlines all over the Premier League. But the sheer amount of pounds put into that attacking trio won't make a lot of sense, quite frankly.
What if Hulk adjust slowly to the improved play in the EPL? What if Hulk is simply overrated in the first place? What if Torres replicates his disappointing 2011-12 season, one that saw him net only 11 goals in 48 appearances for the Blues?
Suddenly, an enormous amount of money will look like an enormous waste. How patient will Chelsea fans be with these three if they don't set the Premier League on fire early on with their play?
If we look at other players like Willian or A.Johnson then they will cost less and be more valuable. Hulk is just a polished sturridge, and maybe in a year or two sturridge will be better than him. Neymar, one of the best players in the world is worth 45 million pounds. So they're better additions than hulk.
Ultimately, adding a player with Hulk's creativity, strength and goal-scoring ability isn't going to hurt Chelsea. Any lineup issues they may encounter are more likely to be an issue of too much of a good thing more so than a deficiency of talent at any one position.
But adding a player like Hulk for £38 million seems more like a luxury than a need and could be an unnecessary investment of an area of Chelsea's team that would be just as well served with a moderate improvement as it will be with a lavish Hulk signing.
Hulk will make his impact felt, but he'll never become a player like Drogba, Rooney or RVP
