Illkay Gundogan.

I have to say that I am a massive fan of the Dortmund squad and I think that it is exactly what Arsenal are trying to do but Dortmund have actually been able to pull it off. The squad that they have put together is one that could potential go very far in the Champion's League this coming season. I know that they struggled this year in the CL, but it was the first few CL games for most of the players.

Gundogan has all the attributes that we are looking for in our CM position. His strong over the ball, without requiring the frame of an Essien or Mikel. He has the acceleration to be able to start attacks very easily after winning the ball deep in the midfield. When I watch him play, I feel like I am watching Modric or Fabregas occassionally. I think that he would be the perfect person to partner a Mikel/Essien/Meireles (or even maybe McEachran if he can continue to develop). He was showing promise last year but was always going to play second fiddle to Sahin. He has shone so brightly this season that I think there would be very few Dortmund fans that would prefer to have Sahin back in his place.
