Ran into Kalou yesterday at a hotel in Miami and he was nice enough to chat with me and take a picture. We talked for a little bit and he said he didn't know if he would be playing for Chelsea next season. This got me to thinking, and I think that Kalou should definitely be playing for Chelsea next season.
Now that RDM has been confirmed as Chelsea's manager the team can begin to add depth to squad with quality players the manager trusts that can be impact subs and be rotated in games throughout the season. At the end of last season RDM consistently entrusted Kalou with a starting spot and Kalou did not dissapoint grabbing a vital goal along the way to our champions league win (goal against benfica) and providing solid performances throughout. Kalou is still only 26, has 36 goals to his name for Chelsea (around 15 from the bench*), is a great team player and won't get overly frustrated from warming the bench. Furthermore, Kalou knows the Chelsea winning mentality and can play anywhere in the front as a main striker, support striker, winger and even attacking midfield. Kalou's wages aren't excessive as he was on an £80,000 a week salary for Chelsea and would probably sign for a 90-95,000 a week salary.
According to WhoScored Kalou strenghts are: Through balls (very strong), long shots (strong), key passes (strong) and dribbling (strong).
His weaknesses are: crossing (weak) and defensive contribution (weak).
