Tributes to Drogba

The dust has settled. The tears have been shed. Yet we Chelsea fans will never be able to forget Didier Drogba. The Ivorian may have left the club on the highest of highs but seeing a teamsheet without the name Drogba on it will just feel strange. In my opinion, Drogba was the greatest Chelsea player of all time. When the big games came, he was there for us. Few other players can say the same, especially on Chelsea. He gave everything in his 8-year term for the Blues and forever he will stay in our hearts. He will be a god in the folklore that is Chelsea's Champions League run this year. He won't be replaceable and I really hope people stop labeling youngsters the "New Drogba". Even Blues striker Romelu Lukaku can not live up to this moniker because Drogba is impossible to copy. He is an original, he is the greatest.

With all that said, I believe that we should set up one of the biggest tributes to Drogba to show our appreciation for the man. Here are a list of ideas and I wish for ALL of these to happen rather than just one:

1) A section of Stamford Bridge to be labelled the Drogba stand. There has to be something inside of the stadium dedicated to the man.

2) A statue is built of Drogba outside of the Bridge. The statue should be of the position Drogba was in when he scored the penalty to make Chelsea the European Champions! (Never get tired of saying that)

3) Retire the number 11. There is nobody who can follow in these footsteps and it would looks strange to see someone else's name paired up with the number. It just wouldn't feel right.

4) Last but not least, there should be a testimonial match for him this summer, preferably after the Euro and before our pre-season. I suggest we have him play with the current team against some of his best mates or Chelsea's former greats. I can definitely see lads like Anelka, Gudjohnsen, Makelele, Ricardo Carvalho, Duff, Ballack, the departing Kalou, and others like Jamie Carragher participating in this event along with some of Drogba's mates from his time at Marseille.

So, what do you guys have in mind for tributes to Drogba? Comment below on any further ideas and if you have any special images, video compilations or homages of Drogba, share beneath so that the whole WAGNH community can see!

P.S. If you disagree with my opinions on Drogba being the greatest Blues player ever, then I respect your opinion but please try to stay on topic in the comment section.
