This post may seem a little random in relation to recent events, but I thought now might be as good a time as any for a quick poll. I want to see whether people think Frank Lampard will one day become Chelsea all time top Goalscorer.

At the moment the record is held by Bobby Tambling (202), with Lampard sitting 15 goals behind him on 187, and Kerry Dixon in between the two on 193. I have a keen interest in Chelsea's goalscoring stats so have been following this for the last couple of seasons, for nothing but the love of stats, and with Lampards decline throughout the Villas-Boas era I started to believe he would never make it.

Lampards form has improved under Di Matteo so he's back in the hunt. He needs 16 goals to take the lead and I personally see him with 1, maybe 2 seasons consitently at the very top from now. Its going to be tight but I was wondering whether people think he will be Chelsea's all time top goalscorer by the time he leaves. I believe he will.
