Although there is huge pressure on [player's team] ahead of their Champions League showdown with [opponent], [player] remains confident that they have the ability to lift the European Cup on Saturday:

We're fully aware of the capabilities of [opponent]. We've studied them thoroughly and we know that we can't take any team that beat [their semi-final opponent] lightly. We have full respect for our opposition on Saturday and will not be underestimating them.

However, we know that we also have a strong team and that if we play at our best, can beat anyone on their day. We know that they're afraid of [star player], but this whole team is in this together and we've shown that by coming so far in this competition. Nobody gave us a chance when we went up against [our semi-final] opponent and look where we are now. There's every reason to believe we can win this.

Even playing in the final is an incredible honour, but we know our season won't be complete unless we can lift the trophy.
