When Roman sacked Andre Villas Boas on March 4th 2012, and appointed Roberto Di Matteo as interim manager I was left wondering that if Chelsea didn't have a permanent replacement then why sack AvB now. At that point we were in 5th , 3 points behind Arsenal, and trailing Napoli 1-3 in the Champions League. Why RdM who has no experience in the Champions League and struggled to keep West Brom in the Premier League?
He's proved all of us wrong , and we've been performing above expections with only one loss in 12 games. The highlight being, Chelsea's 4-1 victory over Napoli. A FA Cup final and a first leg lead over Barce-"more than a club"-lona.He's done all that by just keeping things simply.Surely he's done enough to prove he can take the job on the permanent basis? On the other hand, Chelsea have just not been sharp enough in the final 10 minutes, conceding goals on a regular basis. He hasn't got Chelsea playing the attractive football that Roman so badly craves.
I like RdM but I don't think he should be head coach next season.I'd like him to go back to being assistant to whichever manager Roman decides to shower huge amounts of money on.However, I doubt he'd want to go back to being assistant.Seeing as how well he's done, they'll be offers pouring in, should he decide to leave.
Right then ..
