Capello: 'I Still Consider Terry The England Captain'

Yep, he totally went there:

JUST IN: Capello to Rai1:"I completely disagree with the FA about the John Terry decision, and I have told that to the chairman. I considered and still consider Terry the England captain. I think we first should wait for the trial conclusion"

NB: Two separate tweets condensed.

I'm not Fabio Capello's biggest fan, and I'm not entire sure I totally blame the FA for making this move (although the timing is awful), but this is an obvious sign of just how this decision was made: In panic and with no thought whatsoever. England will be going into Euro 2012 with a captain who isn't an a manager at odds with its own association. How very... well, England.

After that drama around JT in 2010

this isn’t really surprising either, but then, if they find themselves crashing out early – not surprising either

I wondered

If the FA could be sued over this. I know they said at the end of their statement it is not saying that he is guilty but this could be contempt of court because they could be swaying possible jury member to think that JT is guilty by making such a huge public decision that is definitely making JT look like the bad guy.

Capello is absolutely right

No jury

From what I’ve read it will be heard by magistrates, only. He may be too well known a figure for there not to be concern about bias.

Contemp of court is still the same though isn't it?

Because Joey Barton needs to get in trouble for his twitter outburst

It is...

But suspending Terry for the investigation isn’t contempt. In fact, it’s standard practise in this sort of case. If anybody would get into bother over it, it would be the media who maybe take an overzealous angle when reporting the issue.

Fuck England.

Sorry to be blunt. But they have always made terrible decisions. This is very typica of our FA and I’m not really interested in it any more. I will always want England to win but have very little invested in it so if they lose I wont be upset. They are not my team. Chelsea are and they way most England fans treat Chelsea players is upsetting. Especially since they are the most consistent performers for the country.

Gerrard who is revered by most England fans has mostly been a flop. Lampsy, Terry and Cole have been attacked by the media non-stop throughout their careers and have definitely been treated worse than most other England players. Whatever their personal flaws have been they have always delivered on the pitch.

^ This

England bemoans that they don’t challenge for the World Cup or Euro championship but then turn, undermine their coach, likely fire him after the Euros in favor of ’arry, and then start the same thing all over again with him

I reckon Capello wants to leave now

He knows that England can’t go much further in Euro…So instead of making excuses later on…its sensible to quit now

At this current stage I won't be surprised the slightest

if England failed to go past the group stages. But even if they did, there is nothing left for them to take anyway
