John Terry Should Retire From England Duty
Jack at Chelsea Offside makes the argument. It's hard to find much fault with it, too.

Agreed
He should retire. It has been too much for him. And moreover if he is innocent he might be again made the captain. And that would be too much for everyone.
Whatever it is
I’d like to see Smalling( or anyone) Terry Cahill Cole play for Euro 2012..thatll make chelsea supporters proud.

I'm sure Cole's recent performances have handed the mantle to LB the LB

You are forgetting the manager is Capello
He would play Cole over LB any day. He still prefers Johnson over Richards that tells you a lot about it.

Well everyone hates Cashley Cole
He was once a great LB,so got picked.
Now I see no reason to pick him.
Maybe Capello has different thought processes.

Not all Chelsea supporters care about England though ...
from a neutral point of view, I’ve already come to the conclusion this England squad didn’t deserve any of all Chelsea players right away after that disastrous 2010 campaign (and the prelude)
Tor ilisar'thera'nal!
Here,here!
I too believe JT should retire from international duty…it’s not ideal going out on a low ( honestly think after the WC debacle they all should have gone) but, retiring might add a few more seasons on the other end for CFC! ;)
It was time
In his position, I’d retire from England squad in his first scandal. I’m in no position to be a critic but I must say: it’s clear that the England National Squad and the FA are a big fat joke!

E por você a vida inteira vou cantar!"

Not that Carragher should ever be a real voice of reason
but he retired from International duty some time ago, and was able to focus on his club, which seems to have prolonged his ability to play. Terry could be served well at this age to maybe step away and remove another opportunity for injury and wear/tear. And yeah, it’s not like a majority of the England NT fans are even appreciative of him as captain (if there are any here, can you tell me if there is any one candidate most of England would stand behind?).
I suppose the only folks that may not care for this are those that 1) believe it is “giving in to the media and naysayers”, 2) fans of Terry AND the England NT. It would be strange to think of the England squad without him as a part of it, though.
So I was joking about this possibility in another post...
I mean, it is the Daily Fail, but I dunno how fake this could be. However, not sure how far it will go if the case isn’t heard in front of jurors. I would assume, though, that he certainly can’t be involved as one of the witnesses, otherwise there’d be a bigger stink of it.
And Gary Neville apparently stood up for Terry. Not sure if that is good or bad, or nothing at all.
