So the unbeaten Treble had nothing to do with it?
The fact that he surpassed Redknapp’s trophy count in one year had nothing to do with him getting the job? How about the fact that he knew most of the players from the Mou era?
No?
'Arry's probably confused a bit
Not everyone can come into a position of power through bribes, bungs, and various other shady dealings.
I mean
how DOES one get hired when not in the midst of being accused of tax evasion?!??! Madness, for certain.

eh
I think maybe – maybe -he meant because he’s so young. “Let’s be honest he’s lucky to have the job”. Like it. Get to the point harry

He's probably jealous
AVB has more trophies in collection than Harry. Maybe an article I read that said that sparked him to give that remark.
Harry is almost twice older, yet lesser trophies than AVB.
All I can make of this is jealousy.

Well, let's be honest
The only reason Redknapp will get the England job is luck.
Arteta, it's all about the right pass it goes left to the left foot of VAN PERSIE

Ok but seriously though, I'm going to try and say something in a sober and non-provocative way and I hope we can get a decent discussion rather than trolling accusations
Why does everyone feel they HAVE to talk about Redknapp here every other day? You all support a team who have an excellent first team, a more than decent manager and should be a dead cert for Champions League football- why do you HAVE to devote time and space every few days to threads of posts bashing another manager? Is it just envy because Spurs are doing better than Chelsea at this moment in time and it makes you feel better about Chelsea underachieving? Or is it personal to Redknapp- do you feel you could manage a football team better than him, despite his years and years of respectable experience and his obvious talent? Yes, I know ‘Arry seems to invite it himself from time to time with comments like the above. But he’s surely no worse than Wenger and Mou have been and can be at their worst today.
There’s friendly rivalry and justified disparagement, but it seems like day-to-day on this site the Redknapp Watch seems to border on the obsessive. Again, I really hope this is taken as an attempt at rational comment rather than trolling.
It's not like we randomly decided to bash him. He brought it unto himself with these comments.
If AVB came out and said that Spurs are in third purely because of luck, what would you say?
Maybe not on this occasion
But during the tax evasion scandal, during the furore surrounding Capello’s resignation, even when he’s made offhand comments about players he wants to or does not want to sign- seems like you can’t go a day or two without everyone going to town on Redknapp for saying or doing things that have no bearing on Chelsea whatsoever.

It was all a bit of banter. We like to make fun of 'Arry (see the no H thing? That's banter).
It’s not malicious or anything. Most of us don’t hate him and think he’s triffic manager. But, you know I can’t talk about other teams’ managers. If ‘Arry became available course I’d be interested. But that’s all I can say, you know I can’t talk about being interested in managers like that. It’d be disrespectful.
I really hope that wasn't latent sarcasm, because it was a nice set of comments I can get behind.
I really wish some of the more bilious members of your comment pool, let’s call them the “fuck off Redknapp and die” group, shared your outlook. It’s not like we don’t get them over at CFC, where I spend most of our time, but it seems like there’s a pack of people who shark round here just waiting for Redknapp news to froth over. It’s a shame, because the people who run this site do an absolutely fantastic job with their analysis.

I think you're taking them too literally. No one wants Redknapp to die over a
comment, no matter how disrespectful. Hyperbole is a common way of showing displeasure (and he does deserve our displeasure in this instance).
are you his pr manager or something?
considering he’s been implicated in tax evasion, bungs, tactical ignorance, illiteracy, running a club into the ground, and dissing our manager, what exactly surprises you about Chelsea fans (or football fans in general) throwing a little friendly criticism his way?
what are you on about?
does Redknapp’s blatant disrespect for our manager not easily explain this reaction? and frankly our own Fernando Torres gets bashed here a hell of a lot more than Redknapp. you seem awfully defensive of someone who really doesn’t get discussed here that often.
