Greetings from SE10
Hi- First Post @WAGNH- A view on yesterdays disaster at Goodison, or more accurately, what I see as the reasons it happened and seems to keep happening. There s a reason, all very UNCS, probably stirred by the torment of recent months coming to a head yesterday, why I'm currently troubled. Last night I dreamed I sacked AVB (not sure I would yet but that’s dreams for you, wish-fulfilment/anxiety).
Sorry I digress-very many years ago as a very small boy, I went to my second ever proper game for my pal’s 7th birthday. It was Chelsea v Everton at the Bridge and I can still see visualise snapshots from it, sitting on the old blue terrace metalwork to see above the grown-ups for the first time, the crowd surging forward each time it went close (all standing on the terraces of course), Osgood scoring for us (penalty off the underside of the bar) and Bonetti saving a penalty, which was a Howard Webb type shocker, if memory serves. So, I fell in love with Chelsea that day and Ive been on the rollercoaster ever since. Just in case you were wondering why 2nd game, I went with the church boys club to Spurs V Celtic a few months before and Spurs won, I still shudder to think what would have happened if it had been a draw. I'd like to think I'd have stopped going to Spurs at the same time I stopped going to Church. Anyway we got history! Maybe I’ll post up some good and bad recollections (1968-2012) in the future. Back in the here and now, while we never get an easy time at Everton, yesterday was a stark reminder, as if we needed one, that the AVB revolution is in serious trouble. I fully understand that we need to rebuild, I understand AVB is under a lot of pressure to succeed and rebuild at the same time and that’s not easy, what Im not seeing is progress. That’s what really troubles me. We are very short on invention with only Ramires and JM looking the part going forward. Danny is one of the most frustrating strikers Ive ever seen (I remember his pre-loan form) and as everyone says, he's got lovely feet, but he can be a liability. Against Man U his lack of backtracking got him bollocking from AVB thus provoking the clueless wrong-side lunge that put them back in the game. Despite his energy Miereles has had one good Chelsea game (for Liverpool against us) and JOM looks desperately short of pace and vision (because he is, sadly). Malouda is barely recognisible from the player I enjoyed so much in his second season with us, he might as well wear a 'I wish I wasn't here' slogan instead of a number on his shirt. Frank is probably our best signing ever, ever, and I love him to pieces but the years are catching up with him and he should be complementing our first choice midfield, not trying to lead it. I realise this is not the place to criticise Sideshow, but a decision on his best role is overdue. Its not acceptable to be drawn towards the ball so much at this level and his attempt to 'close down' ( a good time to be drawn to the ball ) after Cashley’s misplaced pass from Cech’s roll out in the first half yesterday was embarrassingly effete. I like us trying to play out as opposed to lumping it forward of course but stuff like that (and (JOM getting mugged at Old Trafford) is starting to fray my nerves. As for Torres, I ve probably bored you all enough but, as Zola (the best player to wear the blue shirt?) said on Sky a couple of weeks back, he s not getting in the right place often enough, he pulls out beyond the back post and drifts wide. We just are nt scoring. We paid 60 mil for a world class hitman. Liverpool must love us. I feel for him, I do. But ………..anyway. Didier encore? Bring on Napoli (and hope we get a lot of luck, I thought they looked very good against Man City x 2). I keep thinking about that line 'Lost in a Roman wilderness of pain' from 'The End' Hmmm.....Bye.

Hello and Welcome!
Always great to see a fellow Blues fan online :)
I look forward to seeing your comments in the game threads
Just a note of interest, there is an established introduction thread (here), but I’ll let this one slide ; )
I may not know much about life, but what I do know has taught me to believe in Chelsea.
Oh you're right and I barely noticed
that the intro thread has faded into oblivion :(
Tor ilisar'thera'nal!
Quick! Pile on the rec's!

Thank you for your input. I look forward to reading future posts from someone that has been a Chelsea fan longer than (I think) most of us here, with all due respect. You must have some more great stories!

Thanks I like it here.
Thanks for the welcome, you’re all very kind. Sorry I did nt use the intro thread but no one introduced me to it and as I was going to Bridge when Bobby Charlton was playing (went to his last game, 1-0 Osgood, my dad and me where the last two through the Shed end before a policeman truncheoned my Granma, depriving her of a piece of soccer history but a honourable mention in this overlong preamble), I am of course very old and a little senile. If anyone’s going near a post office…..Cheers.
Hey there welcome!
I don't even know what to put in here knowing Steve can just change it anytime he wants (the jerk) :cP also something about trolling CFC and WAGNH
