Cole's sending off a good thing? Time to Give youth a chance

By now some of you have read the title and are saying to yourselves what is this fella on about. Well take the time to read this and you'll understand my reasoning. Ashley Cole has without question has over the last few seasons being chelsea's Mr reliable and no other chelsea player has spent more time on the pitch than he has. Which is a testament to his fitness. But in my opinion this season has seen him possiably seen the effects of constant matches, In matches against Sunderland he counldn't get within 5 yards of Sessegnon or even against Nathan Dyer Last night. I think fatigue could possiably be having a huge effect. This leaves Bertrand for Man Utd this weekend and hopefully not Jose Bosingwa for LB. I am not a fan of Bosingwa although i would love for him to prove me wrong someday but in his natural position.

For me its time for AVB to throw these youngsters in at the deep in to see if they sink or swim. Chelsea have spent to much money on developing players such as Bertrand and Van Aanholt to keep loaning them out. You always here that some youth player you've being watching in countless reserve games or different leagues being sold to a lower level club "cause they cant make the senior grade". Which is extremely unfair to a lot of youth players, they're not getting the chance at senior grade to prove this. I would love to see Bertrand Get the nod at the weekend and destroy Valencia. Having said that i'd love to see Lukaku get some game time along with Piazon two players that can bring something different to the team.

I have loved the AVB revolution at the club (not so much the losses) but the real focus on young talent. Now its time to let them do the talking. Hopefully for Bertrand it will be a baptism of fire and i wanna see him step up to the mark.

I'd like to name my team for the weekend and if anyone would like to name theirs also, i'd be interested in all comments.

Cech

Ivanovic... Luiz... Cahill / JT... Bertrand

Romeu

Meireles... Lampard / Essien

Sturridge... Torres... Mata

Subs.

Turnbull...Bosingwa...Cahill / JT...Lampard / Essien...Mikel...Piazon...Lukaku...

AVB brought this on himself, in a way. If he had played Bertrand occasionally, there could've

only been positives.

For one, Cole would’ve got some much needed rest. This could only improve his performances. If Bertrand impressed, then he would have competition, which again would only make him up his game.

Secondly, Bertrand would be a lot more ready to deal with any suspensions Cole may pick up. We wouldn’t be in this situation. We wouldn’t be so scared of playing Bertrand against United or any other big team.

I also want to see Bertrand playing

but its pretty scary to start him against Man Utd…especially when he will have to mark Valencia who is in very good form. I hope he starts, and I hope he handles himself well.

Not to mention...

Cole has not been playing ALL that well recently. I would love to see Bertrand get the nod, he can’t play any worse than Cole played last week.

Meireles

On second thoughts on Meireles with the way he’s being playin lately i’d love to see The Bison start with Romeu and Lampard.
