We have our first update on the reason Petr Cech made way for Ross Turnbull on Sunday, but no word on the seriousness of the issue
Petr Cech had to leave today's game at halftime, and we're just now hearing that the move was due to an injury. Dan Levene has a quote from Rafa on the goalkeeper:
Benitez on Cech injury: "He felt something. We don't want to take any risks. We'll have to do a scan and see what it is." Thigh problem.

Obviously we'll all be hoping that this is nothing serious, but the timing really could have been a lot worse if it is. While nobody would likely be overly comfortable with the idea of playing Ross Turnbull every day, we do have a pretty good young keeper out on loan that we could recall should the need arise.
At this point there is no reason to believe this is going to be a long term injury, and hopefully the scans are simply precautionary. With that said, we should all probably keep our fingers crossed anyway. Get well soon Petr, playing Turnbull scares me.
