Add Juan Mata to the list of Chelsea players that has been called to international duty next week, but you can leave Fernando Torres off that list.

Vincente Del Bosque has named his Spain squad that will face Panama on November 14, and Chelsea have only a single player that has been named to that squad. After lighting up the Premier League for most of the last month and a half, Juan Mata has been named to the team that will play mid-week. Misfiring striker Fernando Torres was not included in the group.

I don't know that I'd read too much into either move, as Del Bosque seems to be trying to get some of the fringe players some involvement. While Torres likely fits that description, there's also not a whole lot in the way of younger Spanish strikers forcing their way into the national team discussion at the moment. In all likelihood, Torres' place in the squad going forward will be heavily reliant on his form with Chelsea.

Mata, on the other hand, is likely going to be a huge part of future Spanish sides. This should be a great chance to remind the coaching staff that he's still very, very useful. Since it's a friendly, I'd be surprised to see him play 90 minutes, but a start wouldn't shock me at all. Just stay healthy Juan, while we are deep in your position, we really do need you.
