John Terry's injury appears to less severe than originally anticipated, the defender is set to miss approximately three weeks.

It looked bad when John Terry went down after Luis Suarez fell on top of his planted leg, and many Chelsea fans feared for the worst. I actually had a piece prepared listing the internal options that Chelsea had at their disposal should the announcement come that Terry would be done for the remainder of the year. As usual with the CHelsea captain, however, the injury turned out to be much less severe than we had initially anticipated.

Terry had an MRI done on the injured knee after the swelling subsided, and the scan showed no tears within the joint. Roberto Di Matteo had an updated timetable for us, via The Guardian:

"With JT, we're looking at approximately three weeks. Fortunately, it's not as bad as we first thought. It's an MCL strain."

This is excellent news, as Chelsea probably have plenty of depth to cover a three week absence in the center of the defense. David Luiz and Gary Cahill should be the club's first choices to start at the moment, with Branislav Ivanovic being available to cover the position as well. I'd assume Cesar Azpilicueta will continue to get opportunities as Bran works more centrally, and after his game against Liverpool, that's fine by me.

Ashley Cole is questionable for the game against West Brom, while Frank Lampard will miss the tie with an injured calf.
