Chelsea left back slash left winger Ryan Bertrand has been called into Roy Hodgson's England squad in order to replace Arsenal left back Kieran Gibbs, who has withdrawn from the side after picking up an injury during the Gunenrs' 3-1 victory over West Ham United on Saturday. This isn't the 23-year-old's first cap -- he's made a couple of substitute appearances for the Three Lions already -- so it's probably not a huge deal.

But it does bring the number of Chelsea players in the England squad to four (John Terry retired in a pre-emptive retaliatory strike against the FA for his four-game suspension by retiring from international duty, if you recall). The Blues have contributed Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard and Gary Cahill to the cause to face Poland and the mighty San Marino. Honestly, I'd rather everyone just retire from the England setup, Lampard especially. Even if this is World Cup qualification, international duty for this team is a complete waste of everyone's time.
