There is an article in the Daily Mail today saying that Roman is interested in Busquets and even stranger that he wants to leave.

Now while this isnt at first glance very believable - guy is a catalan playing for barca "best club in the world" and only signed a new contract last year there might be some truth for it.

1: Barca isnt the most generous club in the world. They made fabrigas pay part of his transfer fee in lower wages and Messi, who they say is the best player in the world, isnt even in the top 5 of best paid players. All these Spanish players are seeing the wages on offer in the premiership and want some of it. Why should Busquets for example get a low salary just because he is catalan while RVP and Toure make 250k?

2: Barca have a new untested manager and they are up against mourinho. If barca dont win the league then they will probably fire the new guy and look to blame someone. A defensive midfielder is easy to blame and neither barca or real really value defensive midfielders (barca sold toure and real sold makale even though they were vital).

3: Guy is always forced to play in defense. Its the arrogance of a club like barca that they dont bother to sign defensive cover and always expect their midfielders to step up. A guy as arrogant as busquets probably doesnt like it.

So would he be a good signing? I'm torn as their are lots of negatives and positives.

The negatives: Guy played at barca a club we hate and is a real cheat and very arrogant, as only catalans can be.

Positives: The guy is pure class and would make our team much stronger in the transition. Also cheating isnt such a bad thing, both ballack and drogba cheated lots and it was very effective and good for the team. We really miss a dirty midfield player like ballack and wise as they were very good in getting into other players heads and stopping counters without getting yellow cards. We also have no proper cover in the position and while mikal is getting better he is hardly world class. Lamps doesnt want to defend and Romeu is too raw and if he does get good will probably pull a fabrigas anyway.

So I hope the rumour is true and we sign him!
