After reading about the Ashley Cole situation i was wondering what's happening with Frank.
Should he be offered a new contract?
The negatives are we know are this:
1: Frank is one of the higher earners at chelsea. Would he accept a drastic pay cut?
2: Frank has gone from a first team player to squad player. Mainly due to his age. RDM's formation isn't Lampard's best and he isnt vital to chelsea anymore.
3: Frank is wanted by the MLS who are offering lots of money - should we match it?
4: Frank is pretty arrogant and not very helpful with youth players. (compared to Mata and David Luiz)
But the possitives are:
1: He is the face of chelsea now that JT & Ashley are hated by the media. He's Chelsea through and through and great with the media who love him.
2: He is accepting a squad role under RDM and after JT is the most passionate player we have.
3: His mum made him promise to stay at chelsea on her deathbed and he has said publically that he understands that he cannot demand such a high wage anymore.
4: He's an intelligent guy so a player/coach contract would suit him perfectly.
In my opinion Roman should offer Frank a longtime contract on less money (50k) where he has the chance to retire at chelsea and then move on to coach the youth teams in a few years. Money wise he can also be promised a testimonial and his new bird earns a good salary anyway.
