Marek Hamsik would reportedly have interest in Chelsea FC
According to reports out of Italy, Marek Hamsik's agent claims the player would have some interest in a move to Stamford Bridge. Hamsik and Napoli have been negotiating a possible contract extension for several months to no avail, so it's logical to speculate that the 24 year old Hamsik may soon be off to bigger and better places. According to Hamsik's agent:
If Napoli were to receive an offer from Barcelona, Chelsea or Real Madrid, then it would be logical to accept
While that's not suggesting that he's absolutely leaving Napoli, it's certainly indicative that Hamsik would not be opposed to a move to one of Europe's top (paying) sides. There is little doubt that Chelsea have a need for a midfield playmaker in Hamsik's mold, and with the player just entering his prime years it certainly seems like a fit for both parties. This is probably just noise on the agent's part to attempt to get some offers for his client, but in this case I certainly hope the club responds as he'd like. We'll keep you posted...

Whats his ideal price range and whats his suspected cost range?
Is he an AM or a CM ?

He'll cost a lot
And he can play either position, although he’s certainly better in more advanced areas than any of our current midfield

I didn't know he was a playmaker..
Thought he was more Lampard like, awesome addition if it comes through though.
Kind of similar to Lampard in his prime
Starts from a more advanced position usually and plays more through balls

Moutinho>Hamsik
it’ll work if Chelsea play in 4-2-3-1 so he can play in the hole. IMO he’s too slow to play on the wings, he can’t tackle to play in MF three. I’d go for Moutinho instead.
Ramires——Romeu——Moutinho sounds yummy.
I'd take Hamsik over Moutinho personally, though it's probably a very good debate
Hamsik has played against much higher level competition, is younger, is bigger, and has a longer track record. The price will be pretty similar for both players as well. He’s more of an advanced midfielder, where Moutinho is more like Modric as far as his typical role goes. Given all that, Hamsik would be my personal preference.

I'll admit to having not seen him play a huge amount
But I always thought that Moutinho was more like Ramires; not the most gifted with the ball at his feet but a damn good runner.
I always thought Moutinho was a "jack of all trades" type character. Competent at many things
but not really superb at anything. Very versatile and full of stamina, but not the type of player who can constantly open up defenses with a bit of vision and an accurate pass like your Xavis, Pirlos, Modrics, etc. Very useful player to have from a tactical point of view though.
I'd rather get a left winger and bring mata in more central
I think it makes sense to play mata in the middle seeing as we basically play a 4-<4>-2 with a right forward and mata in the hole.
It seems to be his natural position and at the moment we seem to be relying too heavily on Ashley Cole.
I’d like Eden Hazard or Gareth Bale (who wouldn’t) on the left. Or even Neymar. Or obviously a less pricey alternative that could provide goals and crosses.
lol
i guess u only missed messi n ronaldo’s name in that list :P
I will leave that
I somehow dont think Hamsik would be a huge success would prefer Eriken,Gotze,Moutinho or even Ilicic
bring back gokhan tore
he completes the most dribbles per game in europe , 6.3 and looks world class for hamburg. we should use some of the vastly talented youth players we have such as kaby djalo , lalkovic ect.
We already have plenty of players who like to put their head down and dribble around
Torres, Sturridge, Kalou, Malouda. Tore will never be as successful at those dribbles in England as in Germany.
Some people think that's he's overrated
Thoughts Stephen? I personally don’t have a good idea of his skill set.

i don't know how much he'd cost. but if it's in gotze / hazard / eriksen range, i'd prefer to get one of them.
I’ve always liked him though, just a bit overpriced.
Dude's a freak
And would be an awesome add to the squad too. He can play either as a CM ou as a AMC but you’ll see him running through the entire pitch to ignite plays. And he can run and score too!
But I don’t know if we’ll get him, if his agent put Barcelona and Madrid on the table too.

I'd prefer Eriksen
he’s more of a playmaker than Hamsik and thats what we need
This is one of my favorite rumours so far.

I’d take this deal in a heartbeat.
Throw in Cesar Aspilicueta for another 12 and we’ve already upgraded 2 positions while freshening up the squad with youth and not having too pay tooooo much. I really don’t think we need Cahill and I wouldn’t be heartbroken if that falls through.
Instead of Mikel
who provides depth at DM, it would be more sensible to offer Kalou or preferably Malouda
What about
Alan Dzagoev, he has stated he’s a Chelsea fan. I really like him. He’s one of those up and coming CAM that you never hear about because he plays in CSKA Moscow i believe.

5 Up, 5 Down - A uniquely unofficial look at the comings and goings of Chelsea FC and the EPL
My only question is..
would this prevent Mata from getting to play in the hole position? FFT did an interview with Mata and he suggested he likes to play in behind the strikers, and that when he is on the wing, he likes to drift in (as we’ve seen). I was sort of hoping we’d be able to release him into that position with some nice transfers this window. Hamsik is certainly fits a needed ingredient for our midfield, but I would hope that Mata could eventually slide into the spot behind the strikers.
Can't blame Mata for that...
I’m sure you of all people would appreciate why someone might like to get “in behind” Torres :p
YES! Maybe for different reasons...
just maybe. Haha.
Umm....
I don’t know to much about him, I guess I’m gonna have to look up on YouTube and see what he’s mad of.

I absolutely love Marek Hamsik.
One of my favorite players in the entire sport. It’d make me a very sad Liverpool fan to see him in Chelsea blue.
Not to mention how Mrs. Graham would react… poor Kirsten…

Hamsik at Chelsea would be the bomb!! :D
I’d prefer him over Moutinho…he’s more of an all-action midfielder whereas Moutinho is a more laid-back passer. That’s what I always thought in any case. But both are expensive…and dealing with Di Laurentiis is a bitch. Also,AVB knows Moutinho,so maybe that will help too
People complaining about bringing a quality left winger instead of Hamsik
Who would fit in this category?

I like where you're heads at.
90m for Hamsik & Cavani.
And then we might as well get the buyout on Lavezzi (35m).
We’ll give them Torres and Malouda in exchange even. :P
