Deadline Day Rumblings: Chelsea may submit another bid for Lucas Moura
This is one of those rumors that just isn't going to go away until Moura moves to Europe. According to Rory Smith (and several other "sources"), Chelsea FC are expected to submit another bid for 19 year old Brazilian Lucas Moura before the window shuts this evening:
At this point I'm far less concerned about Chelsea reaching an agreement with Sao Paulo and more concerned with coming to terms with the player in question. We've been taking our time with player negotiations lately to ensure we don't overpay (too much) in terms of wages. With Moura owning a 20% stake in his economic rights and not yet possessing a work permit, I just can't see a quick conclusion to this one forthcoming. Still, it's good to see we're being linked so heavily with both he and Eden Hazard. Hopefully we'll have more on this as the day progresses.

Looks like deadline day will be fun after all
Until we sign Krasic at the last minute because we couldn’t get Moura
If we sign Krasic
Deadline day will be fun for our opponents

Nah.
Like I said, I highly doubt we will make a big money signing this window.
Hazard not leaving untill summer
Lucas not leaving untill summer
Willian not a player that fits in longterm project of AVB
AVB confirming we are not going to go wild this window
AVB confirming before transfer window we would only make a couple of “small” signings
I think we will go for him in the summer together with Hazard (who is highly likely to join us over any other team in England).
I think we're leaving Willian because we're hoping to get both
Moura and Hazard in the summer. Which makes me think we have quite a good chance of getting both of them if Willian was a plan B we would of had him unless they were confident in getting them in the summer. I just hope we can last that long… XD
True, then we would be lucky even to get Willian!
I think Chelsea are taking a huge gamble if they don’t sign a player to improve the squad today. Mata is starting to look a bit tired and Sturridge isn’t in the same kind of form he was in a month or two ago. The attack has looked utterly hopeless in recent weeks and given our record against our rivals this season this season I could easily see us loosing at Liverpool and Arsenal which would cancel out our current advantage!Basically the current squad does not fill me with any confidence what so ever!

The attack is looking shit
because of our midfield. Slow and lethargic, those words define our midfield. We lack any form of creativity and invention. I don’t think you can blame either Mata, Sturridge or even Torres. I can’t even remember one game where Torres had a decent through ball. The reason Torres is one of our most creative players this season is because our midfield is shit. He is forced to drop deep or wide to get the ball and make the play.
True
I just think right now nothing is easy for us. I can’t pin-point it one a few players and I can’t say a couple new players will sort it out. Just in general not many players are performing tot he standard that’s expected of them. Something just isn’t clicking. It’s gunna take a while to fix. But the front three are missing chances and the midfield is slow and the defence is actually ok at the moment.
I agree with you 100%
In the past few games I have seen we have been playing Mireles and Lampard together which is not at all a good idea. We need midfielders who can create. The squad is there, but AVB is not able to get his starting 11 right. If he sorts out this problem then we will start creating more chances and win more games. You cannot blame Torres for his goal drought. The poor guy is trying his hardest to come up with the goods on his own.

Yes please.....
How about pretty please.
Moura
If purchased either in the summer or today, could he see first team action?
Great pickup for CFC either way.
Why wouldn't a KdB-type deal
not suit both Hazard, Moura and their respective clubs?
lovely to be linked with such talent
but it seems evident we could use some help now, even if its only a temporary solution
A Brazillian journalist
@eduaffonsoespn who is reportedly close to Sao Paulo FC has said that there is ‘NO CHANCE’ Lucas Moura may move today…

It seems pretty clear that a deal today would include a loan back to Sao Paulo

If their season starts a week after Chelsea's finishes-why loan him back until then?
A loan back until the summer seems a waste of time! Especially since if that sort of deal went through Chelsea would want him about the start of July so he would miss out on half a season at Chelsea in order to play a few weeks in Brazil in 4 months time!

The Copa Libertadores takes place in the spring
That’s far more important to Sao Paulo than their domestic league

I bet he'd like to stay at São Paulo until July
Brazilian national league starts in May, and São Paulo lost its legendary GK Rogério Ceni for at least 5 months due to injury. These 2 months can define whether he stays at the club to determine if he’ll be necessary for the club to guarantee at least a Libertadores spot depending on the team’s performance (I guess they’ll do fine, they just hired Jadson!). If not, he’ll leave. If he stays and they get in Libertadores, well… We can try to get him in July 2013 if we’re patient.
