One Year Later: Fernando Torres (Poll)
We've already done David Luiz, so let's have the obvious follow-up. On January 31st, 2011, Chelsea made an earth-shaking move, snatching up Liverpool hero Fernando Torres for a cool £50M. It was a transfer of the shirt-burning variety, and injected so much cash into Anfield that Liverpool then proceeded to spend £35M on Andy Carroll. Since... well, you tell me. What make you of the rather epic Torres purchase?

I still love 'Nando and hope he does well
but the two people who were really happy have to be joking.
Well one year earlier I sat with a rage face
in front of my monitor, unable to believe what was just happening. Not happy with his performance either, but it’s a virtue to support every Chelsea player regardless how much his value might be, so I’ll be doing that as long as he is with us. I still really hope things go up with him and he stays with us as long as possible, though currently I’m far from optimistic

I never liked him
Even though he was always deemed as a great professional and person, and a great footballer as well. Some of my friends loved this move, but I felt real anger. How can you buy an attacker who doesn’t score any goals in a long time for 56 mi euros?
Now we’re “stuck” with him. He was never that valuable, and I know he’ll never live up to the fee. Still, I want him to score some goals so we could sell him in the next transfer window for an amount of money that would diminish the damage done to the club’s banks to the maximum, but he isn’t helping his case at all.

And you can throw the "we don't someone to feed him!" argument as well
It won’t change the fact that the Torres signing was one we shouldn’t be doing.

I have got to agree with you.
I never liked him myself, especially cause he always used to score against us.50m was never worth it.City got Aguero for 35m, who was also a long time Chelsea target. And look how he turned out.Yes, I was excited as hell when the news broke out that Torres was on his way via a heli to Stamford Bridge ( although it wasn’t true) , and it’s always fun to poke at them Pool fans, but trying to fit him into our system has cost us many a match.
I won’t take anything away from Torres, he’s been trying real hard and seemed like he was back to his best until he fucking got sent off against QPR.Having said that, the transfer has also made us very cautious when it comes to signing big name players.Seeing that he wasn’t even on Carlo’s wishlist and Carlo’s inability to get Torres and Drogba work probably was one of the reasons that cost him his job as well.
I always had faith in Torres, but my patience is running thin, So my >:( isnt exactly for Torres but for the management that fucked up.
:-D

Just because you are the official troll
doesn’t mean others can’t troll. We won’t beat you stealing your trolling crown, but we can still try :D

Maybe Sabrina brought in
an apprentice of hers?
We had so many polls recently – a troll poll would not do more harm :)
Tor ilisar'thera'nal!
But if this is a troll poll
will it hurt Nando’s soul?
You have to vote the troll poll...
to get into … you know? Talking about polls and their homonyms seems very appropriate.
It's a normal distribution!
Slightly sad skewed. That’s actually pretty interesting, and pretty telling.
