Please educate me. Why is there no (apparent) interest in bringing Keisuke Honda?
The man would be a great stop-gap play maker until we splash for one this summer. Hell, he might be good enough that we won't need to splash for one this summer. CSKA are only asking for €15 million, why not swoop in and beat out Lazio.
Also, why no interest in Montolivo? Florentia need to sell him now or lose him for nothing.
Both players appear to have the quality and skill to get minutes in the midfield. They (arguably) may not be superstars or flashy names, but they would be a great help in the fight to stay in the top 4.

I'd be interested in both
As quick fixes, they’re great. Neither is a long-term fit for the team, but if Chelsea want reinforcements now Honda or Monty would be great options
Because those two don't make sexy headlines
And so no lazy-ass journalist will throw together a transfer “rumor” story on it.
I personally
am a huge fan of Honda. I’ve been amazed that no one has taken him out of Russia since his performance at the World Cup.
I agree
He even seems like he would be able to stand the physicality of the Prem
I think he would do.
He’s got good pace from the mid field and can take some series knocks in the games I have seen him in. He’s also deadly on the free kick. I would love to see him in the EPL.
I don't really like either in our current situation
We have a bunch of guys that are currently good but not great in the center of the midfield. Meireles, Essien (I think), Lampard, Romeu, and Mikel all would fall into that category in my judgement. Both are fine players, but I can’t see either offering a significant upgrade over what we already have. A player of that caliber that could also play the wide positions would be an excellent fit, but I’d pass on these two specifically.

That said, I'd have preferred either to Meireles this past summer

I completely agree with you
I even preferred Arteta over Meireles. What I really wanted was Pjanic, although not a great player but has a decent potential and would have had a good resale value.

In our situation Honda is a definate
Honda has the ability not only as a FK specialist which are incredible. But he can make a seriously incisive pass to unlock defences with ease. For a quick fix a season maybe two seasons extremely good value. However i think, who would be not only a immediate fix and long term fix would be Joao Moutinho and at a 35 million release clause he would be expensive but in my opinion worth it. I’ve Being following him since he began at sproting lisbon playing as a winger ghosting past players. Since his move to Porto he excelled in his CM role spraying passes to either wings beyond fullbacks lung busting fitness and a very competent dribbling ability he has the ability to be the complete player he needs a better league to showcase his ability. If this is an option that is not possiable for whatever reason honda could full the void easily.
instead of Honda, a teammate of his Dzagoev
Everybody stutters one way or the other
So check out my message to you.
As a matter of fact don't let nothin' hold you back.
If the Scatman can do it brother so can you.
Yo I'm the Scatman.
I would love that to happen
and bring in Jano Ananidze. Two Russians that are going to be great players.
Shit.
I always forget that for some reason. I’ve read that at least 4 times but it just doesn’t stick in my head.
what a great little player though, imagine mata on the left, dzagoev in the middle, and jano on the right
