John Terry Injured; Captain To Miss Swansea Match
The fallout from David Luiz's David Luiz moment in the FA Cup match against Portsmouth has finally appeared - captain John Terry, who's been playing through an injury since colliding with a goalpost while bailing out his erratic centre back partner, will now miss the Swansea match to get treatment ahead of the Manchester United tie this weekend.
It's just a bone oedema that he has been carrying for some time since he collided with a post, if I am not wrong against Portsmouth, and this stops him a little bit. It's nothing serious but something to keep an eye on. He has had an MRI before and he should be okay for Man United.
We have a lot of positions covered of course because of our squad, we have Gary and David available and competing and hopefully we can make the right decision.-Andre Villas-Boas. Source: ChelseaFC.com.
The manager's using posh medical terminology here - he just means a bone bruise. Anyway, with Terry out, that presumably means we're going to see a defensive line that features Gary Cahill and David Luiz as the centre back partners (assuming that Branislav Ivanovic holds down right back). Hopefully Cahill has a pretty straightforward Chelsea debut.
Villas-Boas also confirmed that both John Obi Mikel and Frank Lampard will miss the Swansea game, meaning that combined with Ramires's long-term absence we're down to four first-team midfielders for this one. Meanwhile, Josh McEachran gets stuffed back in the basket, since Brendan Rodgers isn't allowed to field him against the Blues.

Question is
Did Josh take his Chelsea-assigned basket with himself, or has Swansea given him a special Welsh one?

I think it has to be a new basket
LuLu and Bertrand are still basketeering in the old one

great pic DPeezy
that fox/dog looks pretty happy, is that implying that the basket isn’t that bad? lol
Yikes
on the injury front. At least if things don’t go our way, we can blame it on that? Maybe the second teamers will show up the first teamers… I sure hope we can put in a good performance against Swansea and their fancy passing.
Err
I mean maybe the non-starters can show up the starters. I am having a rough Monday morning.
Can we borrow Josh for at least a half?
we could then let him play for Swansea for the other half

Hmm
sounds about right. Didnt he do us well in a recent match (and by well, I mean went easier on us)? Maybe I am mixing him up with one of the others…
It's right up there with Facebook, though!
Oops, forgot that our friend Zuckerberg thinks he can overtake Google with search. Because clearly, my friends have all the answers.
If Webb is a United fan, why would he give City a last minute penalty to win a game?
I think he’s actually a Liverpool fan.
If Essien isn't fit
We might see both Meireles and Malouda in the midfield. That my friends is a nightmare.
I'd prefer that to Meireles and Lampard
Malouda offers some of that direct running that we lose with Ramires.
I'd prefer Malouda on the left!
That would allow Mata to move into the centre, have Romeu sitting deep and Essien could play the Ramires role if he is fit enough!

Malouda has been less shit lately
And we’re also a wee bit short on options all of a sudden and we might need all the midfield runners that we can get to pressure up on the Swans.
I got all nervous
and then I remembered Cahill is around now. not as solid obviously but I’d really like to see him tomorrow

Essien and Mikel
Too bad Mikel is hurt because I’d LOVE to see him play next to Cahill. I really believe that Mikel would be a good 3rd/4th CB option but it sadly seems he’s going to leave Chelsea before this happens.
Essien should probably get 30 minutes of playing time against Swansea. We need him to get back into playing shape ASAP and ideally he’s going to add 15 minutes each week.
