Frank Lampard Injury Fairly Mild; Midfielder To Rejoin Team In Mallorca
When Frank Lampard limped off against Norwich City on Saturday in the early stages of the eventual 0-0 draw at Carrow Road, it didn't seem to be too big a deal, but news that the Blues legend was having to stay home while the squad was travelling to the Balearics for a team building exercise raised some alarm bells. Fortunately, it turns out that the injury isn't much of a problem at all:
A scan on the injury Frank Lampard suffered during the game at Norwich on Saturday shows he has a small tear in a calf muscle.
The midfielder is unlikely to feature in the FA Cup fourth-round match against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday but is expected to join up with the rest of the squad in Mallorca where they are training this week.

So, we don't have to worry much about doing without Lampard for any league matches, and the calf tear probably isn't severe enough to prevent him from starting against QPR either - I strongly suspect he would have been rested for that match anyway. Who do y'all think will get the start for Loftus Road take two?
On another note, having Lampard - rumoured as one of the primary malcontents with the reign of Andre Villas-Boas - with the team as they go through some warm(ish) weather bonding in the Mediterranean is much better than the rest of the team going without him. Hopefully there can be some group hugs or something.

Ryan Bertrand needs a game.
Ashley Cole is getting more error prone by the week. Bertrand has allready shown he can play against Premier League opposition in the past. And hopefully Cahill will start as well, and maybe a possible start for Ivanovic?
I was thinking of something like this
-—————Cech——————-
Ivanovic-Cahil-Terry-Cole
-————-Romeu——————
-—Essien—-Meireles——-
Sturridge-Torres-Mata—
Bertrand has a grand total of 34 Premier League minutes.
And while he did get a nice assists during those minutes, that’s not proof yet of anything.
I’m not saying that Bertrand doesn’t have talent. I love him as a backup and am happy to see him play…but he has not yet actually proven himself in the Premier League…
And I'm sure he will
Just saying that he doesn’t have as much PL experience as ‘The Bison’ was implying.
Not proven yet!
Needs to be given a chance soon though or he will look to leave, its not like he is 18-19 years of age and able to wait a wile for opportunities, the guy is going to be 23 in a few months time and needs to be playing. His days of going happily going on loan are likely behind him so if he doesn’t get a few opportunities between now and the summer I’m sure he will look to leave rather than risk spending his career as a reserve player!

Cole isn't good enough for an automatic start every game though
Give Ryan a chance. But yeah we don’t know if he’s good enough yet. How could we?
Agree with Bertrand starting. He's not necessarily proven in the prem, but how the hell will we
ever know if he doesn’t start at least occasionally?
I'd also like to see
Luiz/Cahill/Terry/ColeorBertrand.
I like him too....
…….that’s the “also” part.
I think Terry will be rested...
My starting eleven would be:
Cech
Ivanovic, Cahill, Luiz, Bertrand
Romeu, Ramires, Essien
Mata, Sturridge, Lukaku
It'd be good for the club's duty to "calm" things as well
to not even give the QPR crowd the satisfaction of having Terry to boo at. Not so much that he needs it, because I don’t think Terry cares all that much, but if we’re worried about the ref getting fooled by the crowd antics again, and we really want the heated environment thing to calm down, it would be nice to rest Terry and give Cahill the go. Provided Cahill is ready.
I'd like to see us let some players get a good amount of rest before the schedule really congests
Turnbull
Ivan Cahill Luiz Bertrand
Ramires Essien (try the double pivot, but replace Ramires at some point to rest his legs)
Mata
Kalou Lukaku Malouda
You don't really need to rest a goalkeeper!
Also I don’t like the idea of making too many changes and risk loosing the tie. After all the FA cup is still an important competition and also our best chance of silverware this year!

I don't think a rest is too important.
I’d like
Cech
Iva Luiz Cahill Bertrand
Rami Essien
Sturridge Mata Malouda
Torres
Bring Romeu on for Ramires then Meireles for Mata or Malouda and finally Lukaku for Torres or Sturridge and switch to a 4 diamond 2
FYI
I just wiped out the section of comments relating to the hazard “quote”. Please don’t post “quotes” from players if you haven’t seen a reliable source. The twitter account that started this rumor does not qualify as a source. Please don’t lose your heads over this, it’s just a douchebag trying to troll fans. That account also tweeted this morning that Harry Redknapp had been sentenced to 6 months in prison.

Just avoid quoting players or managers on things like that
If sites like goal.com, caughtoffside, or insidefutbol aren’t willing to run with that story it should say a lot.

Stephen do you think there is a possibility that my fanpost can become a reality?
Where is the meatloaf?
no im talking about my fanpost where fans voted.
It was asking if the writers can make a series of post naming the top three players in each position. for fans like me that are from 00’s
Where is the meatloaf?
Might need some tweaking, but yes
Trying to figure out exactly what position people played could be a bit tricky for some guys. Sound like a good project for the end of the season though, that tends to be a pretty slow couple of news weeks.
