The Daily Mail is reporting that Chelsea have made a bid for Shakhtar's Willian
This one sounds like a typical Daily Fail make believe story, but since I'm sure twitter will be abuzz about this in the very near future we'll address it anyway. According to an "exclusive" report from the Daily Fail, Chelsea FC have bid £20 million to land the Brazilian winger. Whenever the fail has itself an exclusive it's usually an article with nothing hinting at a source that happens to fall when there is very little happening in the transfer market. This "exclusive" story really checks all the boxes on that criteria so I'd pay it very little heed. That said, Willian is a fantastic young football player who fills the exact type of role that Chelsea are known to be looking for. Regardless of whether they actually have any sort of source on this, at least they've decided on a good "target".
I'm not going to get to deep into what Willian brings to the table in this post, but if there does seem to be some actual interest here I'll get a profile up asap. If we actually bid for the speedy Brazilian I'd be absolutely thrilled but a bit surprised that £20 million didn't get it done. He'd immediately add speed and creativity to a Chelsea side that can use both, and I think he'd be a tremendous fit in the Premier League. I wouldn't put too much stock into this particular report, but you never know what might turn up in the coming days. I'm sure both AVB and the Shakhtar staff will be asked about it repeatedly in the next few days.

Pacey young winger?
Sounds about right. At least they’ve stopped linking us with strikers.
He doesn't have great competition at UPL
But he’d be a good buy.

Eu sou do clube tantas vezes campeão!

E por você a vida inteira vou cantar!"
Not for me
Doesn’t have a great deal of talent, a great deal of competitive history against decent sides with anyt success and often livers off THAT Roma game.
Also, they won’t let him come to us for anything under £25million and for that we might as well add the 8 million and go for Hazard. Eden’s a better, younger, more able and more flexible player more used to a league more like ours and more than makes up the difference in price for this watcher.
Doesn’t help that every time I’ve seen Willian he’s been really poor this year, either, and even when going through decent spells he’s more inconsistent than even most wide players. I’d prefer Jovetic to this guy and I’m no fan of his since the cruciate went. Wingers with bad knees don’t stay wingers very long when they have a serious one so young-too big a risk and they’d want a similar price to this guy. Aren’t we back in for Dzagoev? I like him a bit and he’s cloe to contractual freedom s maybe in the £10m illion area, no? Less of a gambler and we’d get cash back if he didn’t shape up too well here too-we might even make on him! I just think buying Willian or Jojo at £20million plus seems worse value and a bigger risk to us than Hazard for the same(buyout) as he’d cost in ther summer as he’s better or the likes of Debruyne or Dzagoev as they’d be cheap enough and (KDB def) at a good stage to just loan out and gain experience or value.
Anyway, this guy joins the pile with Jovetic, Krasic and me in it as a wise player we shouldn’t sign this window! I’m dodgy knees and hard to settle p[ersonal terms wth because I insist on living within three miles of a Seaworld AND within three of a zoo WITH mating Pandas.

I think you're working under the assumption that Hazard has a 33 million pound buyout.
For what it’s worth that was some lazy reporting. Hazard may indeed end up costing something in that region, but there is not a buyout.

I've told him[or her] that several times to no effect.

I've seen it happen.
Also, why is suddenly Hazard at all costs the answer to all our problems? I always thought the creativity and the movement was there its just our finishing was poor.

give up
this gets mentioned in many a post since the transfer window opened, from this user, and you’re banging your head against a brick wall (from what i’v noticed)

I knew when reading
The post it would be the same user posting the 33million crap, is there an ignore or block option here lol.

Maybe he's Eden Hazards agent.
Trying to discretely get us to buy him.
That would be incredibly clever, and an incredible waste of time.
I like it.

It'd be weird for Shaktar to sell both Jadson and Willian in the same window.
I think I’d rather we sign Douglas Costa than Willian, if we’re going to buy a Shaktar Brazilian.
Costa can just play anywhere can't he?
like left, centre, right.
Well damn, Emenalo/AVB once again stealing my FM saves
Willian (+Hamsik+Lavezzi) comprised the core of my virtual Chelsea.
My first team squad actually involves Goetze, Neymar, LUKAKU, Mikel, Mata, Rakitic, Jose Angel, Terry, Luiz, Cesar.A, Courtois

Please no
Why are we always linked with blind and extremely inconsistent players. Willian is just another Krasic. Great pace, 0 awareness and vision. Terrible when the opposition denies space. We need a player like Eden Hazard not someone who can only play when there is alot of space to exploit.
And 20 million quid? You have got to be fucking kidding me right? I wouldn’t even pay 8 million for him. Hugely overrated player.
I think we need Hazard or De Bruyne. Then we can get Eriksen or Goetze later..

Willian isn't that bad
Everytime I’ve seen Shakhtar he seems to be playing pretty okay. Don’t know if he can cut it at Chelsea, though. Its a pretty big jump up from UPL. Wouldn’t really be sure about a £20m splurge on him now,if the Fail is accurate…:/ add that to the Lucas Moura fund!
