UEFA.com User's Team of the Year Reveals Absolutely Nothing Interesting
Oh, look, more Spaniards (and Spaniards-by-association)! And Gareth Bale, really? I weep for you, voting football fans.
Here's the full lineup, should you care enough to know, but not enough to click the link: Casillas - Marcelo, Thiago Silva, Pique, Dani Alves - Xavi (c) - Bale, Iniesta, Robben - Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi
Coach: Guardiola
That's five from the Dive Masters and three from the Drama Queens. None of Chelsea's three candidates made it and there seems to be no way to know how well they actually fared.
If you're looking for more sensible lineups (even from the limited choices given), check out WAGNH's previous discussion on this vote.

I don't think it's that bad of a list.
But what Robben is doing there is beyond me. He’s a brilliant player just hasn’t done much in 2011 due in large part to injuries
He's the mascot.
Monkeys need employment too!

There was a mascot in that vote?
I didn’t know before, but you always learn something more the new day :D
Tor ilisar'thera'nal!
Wowwww
So two spanish teams + token English/German/Italian league players.
And Casillas and Dani Alves were the best at their position? REALLY?
Casilla is good
Second best maybe. The first is Neuer for sure.As for Dani Alves I think Lahm is way better and even Maggio and Darijo Srna might be better then Alves.
See I don't even think Casillas is the best GK on the Spanish team.
and how does David Silva or RVP not make it?
RVP is somewhat understandable
Going up against Messi & Cristiano Ronaldo with just two forward spots was a tough ask.
What I don’t get is, having lumped all forwards together for the two spots, why did they separate out the midfield positions? Silva was only “eligible” for the “attacking midfield” position, losing out to Iniesta, while Robben walked away with the relatively weaker “right midfield” spot. Such a silly & arbitrary division of positions is not fit for the “modern” fluid midfield.
And one could argue that the best team they could have picked would have been a 4-3-3
You could have had Messi, Ronaldo and Robben as the front 3, Xavi, Iniesta and Silva in the middle and whoever at the back
