Tuesday Comes And Goes Without Javier Pastore News
In the most shocking event in world history, the Tuesday deadline by Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has come and gone without any word coming down about the eventual destination of Argentinian midfielder Javier Pastore. I know, it's difficult to believe that the word of a man who once claimed to be a dinosaur who invented the internet* could prove untrustworthy, but one of the most important life lessons you can learn is that Zamparini is a devious insane man and not to be trusted as far as you can throw him.
*If he can make things up, I can too.
It was a little bizarre that the day so hyped up by Palermo as the time we'd find out Pastore's ultimate landing point passed by went by without any rumours at all - I guess the media decided that it was Fernando Torres day and spent all of their efforts flogging that dead horse as hard as possible. I'm still pretty confident that we'll see Pastore at the Bridge before too long, but it sure would be nice if this thing didn't keep draaaagging out. Chelsea have specialised in stretching out transfers long past the time they remain interesting, and I wish they'd stop it.
Oh, there was one interesting rumour that wasn't a rumour. Over to you, Gregory van der Wiel!
It's just rumours. There are always a lot of rumours about me and none of it is true. So I really don't know what to think. I'm just focusing on playing for Ajax this year, and then next year there is the European Championship. Then we will see, what happens. I'm used to rumours, so it doesn't really bother me

Van der Wiel appears to be referring to rumours that don't actually exist, because nobody's heard anything about him for at least the past ten million years. If the rumours don't exist, and they aren't true, does that mean he is moving? It's all very confusing and strange. Oh, and finally, talkSPORT says we're interested in Manchester City's Adam Johnson, which is interesting only because I thought 'Adam Johnson might not be a terrible idea' earlier this week. I would link, but, y'know. TalkSPORT!
Anyway, I hope we hear more about Pastore soon and wrap the whole deal up before too long. Too much writing about The Antics Of King Maurizio can drive a man to madness.

I would love Adam Johnson
He’s a really talented player and it doesn’t seem like Manchester City realize this. We can definitely use some more natural width and at his age I’d be very happy to see him come to Chelsea
I wouldn't want us to sign Adam Johnson
He has a reputation for being a dick and not taking training/his job seriously enough; likes to go out partying etc.
Also, he gets a LOT of hate on City forums for his inconsistency (I’m talking Kalou levels of hate) and generally doesn’t seem worth taking the chance on.
Add to that the fact that City don’t want to sell to us and will try to get a higher transfer fee (see Modric, Luka) and with better players like Kevin De Bruyne or Ibrahim Afellay available for a lot less money, I just don’t see why we would be interested in Johnson.
Afellay isn't available
don’t know about DeBruyne though
He might not be transfer listed...
But with the signings Barca have made recently, he’ll be sat behind Pedro and Sanchez on the depth chart. If they get Fabragas as well then that’s another body in front of him; wouldn’t surprise me if he tried to engineer a move to a club where he’d get more games. Add to that the fact that Barca are still trying to raise money to buy Fabregas, and it probably wouldn’t take too much to take him off their hands.
Does anyone actually know how much Johnson would cost?
I haven’t seen any figures.

Neither is Modric
The reports that we’re about to offer that on Sky are just funny

Goodness they are still talking about that?
I completely moved past that one awhile ago.

PSG realistic?
There’s a random French link that I saw this morning which, when google translated, claims that Pastore has told his friends and family that he wants to join PSG and that Leonardo has convinced him to do so. The report also claims that Tuttosport is the source for the story.

Ridiculous, if true.

I love when papers write stuff like that without any sort of source
It always makes me wonder if they actually believe it while they’re writing

I am so ready for this to be over.
I think we are going to end up having to pay way to much money at the rate this is going.

Apparently this deal should be done soon
Zamparini by phone on Sky Sports News: “I will speak only after the sale. We are closing now, it’s a matter of hours”
Guessing that means it’ll be done by some time next week.
Italian media still can’t decide amongst themselves whether he’s going to come here or go to PSG; seem pretty certain that it’s a two horse race, though.

It's just rumours. There are always a lot of rumours about me and none of it is true. So I really don't know what to think.
