Former Chelsea manager Avram Grant is sacked by West Ham
Former Chelsea manager Avram Grant managed to guide Portsmouth to a last place finish and relegation last year leading some to question what could have been in 2008 with someone else at the helm. When Gianfranco Zola was unceremoniously dumped by West Ham even after successfully guiding the Hammers clear of relegation last year, Avram again found himself managing in London. After squandering a two goal lead today against Wigan, Grant managed the unthinkable feat of guiding a second successive team to a last place finish and relegation.
Unfortunately, we've been hearing rumors (none with an actual credible source) of the lumpy one being a possible candidate for a job somewhere within the hierarchy at Stamford Bridge. Let's all hope that his second straight awful showing will assure that Roman doesn't go anywhere near Grant again. It also makes you start to realize that Zola may have actually been doing a pretty decent job in keeping that club up. Zola's stock has seemed to be on the rise of late, and there have been plenty of rumors of a return to the Bridge in an assistants capacity for next season. While Zola seems destined to be employed in the Premier League again in the near future. one really has to wonder if Grant will be given the opportunity to guide a third consecutive team to the bottom of the table. I for one would love to see him get the opportunity for the entertainment value alone.

I'm paralyzed with fear for two reasons now :(
the second reason being
“Benzema’s Real Madrid team-mate Kaka has also been placed up for sale with the Spanish club placing a £50m price tag on the Brazilian forward. "
PLEASE NO. Not for half of that. Let Kaka’s mommy spread the word anywhere but London if the price is within 30 million of that
Half that sounds about right
They still likely won’t get that much cash, as part of it will likely be another older player as make weight. I could see Drogs making his way there, and as much as I hate to say it Ashley Cole wouldn’t surprise me either.

West Ham never really bothered me in the past.
Of course I wanted to turn them over twice a season but I had no real dislike for them until Gold & Sullivan came in. They then sack Zola and replace him with the Toad. Zola had less money, fewer players and a significantly worse injury list than Grant and still kept the Hammers up. You reap what you sow and I hope the Hammers enjoy Barnsley next season.
Seriously, how does Grant keep getting jobs? How did he get in at the Bridge? He could not run a bath. Chelsea wins at minimum one, probably two trophies if we had someone competent in lieu of Grant that season.
Just goes to show that it's all about who you know
Rather than pure ability/skills.
Connections, connections, connections.
Networking, networking, networking.
I've been anti-West Ham ever since all that stuff about Tevez and Mascherano came out
I know third party ownership is allowed to happen in some smaller leagues (especially south america), but I wish it was outlawed everywhere. Tons of clubs were after those guys, and they likely never would have ended up in West Ham with out that wink-nod crap. The fact that MSI was allowed to continue to hold their rights despite Premier League rules was the only reason West Ham could tempt them and afford them. It’s just a shame they stayed up this long.
