With the international break Chelsea's players have been spread out all over the globe playing in various friendlies and Euro qualifiers. It's hard to keep track of all of them, but I thought it would be fun to put together a post with videos of all the goals and assists. While you won't see many of the defenders or midfielders this way, after the second round of games we'll try to put together a writeup of all the Chelsea players and how they fared.
The England vs Wales match quickly became the Aston Villa show, with both goals involving a pair of Villians combining. For the first, James Collins fouled Ashley Young in the box, leading to this Frank Lampard penalty:Daniel Sturridge also netted for England, but for the U21 level. I can't find a video of the goal yet, but here's his post game remarks:
Lucas Piazon came on as a second half substitute for the Brazil U17 team, and his cross led to the 5th Brazil goal of the evening. He was playing as an attacking mid on the right hand side in this one, and his overall play was solid for the short time he was on the pitch:
Yuri Zhirkov had a very solid game for Russia despite not netting, here's a few highlights:
That's it from our current players so far, but several of our likely transfer targets had exceptional games as well. Gregory Van der Weil was probably the MOTM for the Netherlands, setting up the second and third goals on top of a generally exceptional game. Here's his assists:
Ramires nearly found the back of the net for Brazil, firing one over the bar on an excellent piece of attacking. 18 year old Neymar was on the mark though, netting from open play and the spot (he created the penalty as well) against Scotland:
If I can find one later, I'll add the Sturridge goal, but for now I'll leave you with these. If this is something you guys enjoy, I can try to do it again after the next round of matches along with reviewing everyone's performances.
