Zlatan Ibrahimovich vs. Didier Drogba: May the Best Goal Win

Zlatan Ibrahimovich scored a spectacular effort for AC Milan against fellow Serie A side Lecce, putting the Rossoneri up 1-0 early in the second half. Although the game would end up tied at one apiece, the home side levelling through the efforts of Ruben Olivera, the world didn't much care - the story today is about the Swede's run onto a long clearance and hooked half-volley into the back of a stunned Marco Amelia's net. Check it out below:

Star-divide

Great goal, right? When I saw that hit, I was instantly reminded of a very similar strike by our own Didier Drogba. Take your mind back to 2006. In December of that year, Chelsea were two-time defending champions, but mired in a run of fairly mediocre form and they were faced with an always-difficult away match at Goodison Park. Everton went up early through a Mikel Arteta penalty before Tim Howard levelled things with an own goal. But Chelsea found themselves down 2-1 just nine minutes from time, before being rescued through Frank Lampard's long range daisy-cutter and then an absolutely sensational volley by Drogba, who was 35 yards out when he gathered a flick from Andriy Shevchenko on his chest, let the ball bounce as he spun around, then absolutely hammered the ball past a hilariously flailing Howard and sending Jose Mourinho mental on the touchlines:

They're really similar goals, but the timing on Drogba's effort seals the deal for me. Not to take anything away from the magical Swede that is Ibra, and acknowledging my obvious Chelsea bias, but I've got to give the spoils to the Ivorian here. What think you?
