Israel defeated Malta 3-1 in Ramat Gan to open play in Group F. Blues utility midfielder Yossi Benayoun collected all three goals, as the Israelis got their Euro trek off to a flyer. Our newest ladies' man opened his account after only seven minutes. He added a second at 65, from the penalty spot, before completing the treble 15 minutes from time. All three were of the opportunistic variety, as you will see below.
